Short men’s kimono blue. This unique silk men’s kimono was developed exclusively for the Biennale Meesterlijk The Hague. The print of the fabric is inspired by the work of the Dutch old master Aert Schouman (1710 – 1792). Aert Schouman is the most important Dutch animal painter of the eighteenth century. His watercolors with exotic birds are among the most beautiful ever made.
The absolute highlight is the complete chamber painting of Willem V from Huis ten Bosch with his extraordinary animal collection. The extraordinary chamber painting currently hangs in the residential palace of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.
The Netherlands is known for its cloudy skies. A common subject of many Dutch Master painters. These skies form the basis of the pattern.
