Short men’s kimono brown. This unique silk men’s kimono was developed exclusively for the Biennale Masterly The Hague. The print of the fabric is inspired by the work of Dutch Old Master Aert Schouman (1710 – 1792). Aert Schouman is the most important Dutch animal painter of the eighteenth century. His watercolors depicting exotic birds are among the most beautiful ever made.
The absolute highlight is the complete room painting of Willem V from Huis ten Bosch showing his extraordinary animal collection. The special room painting currently hangs in the residential palace of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.
The Netherlands is known for its cloudy skies. A commonly used item of many Dutch Master painters. These skies form the basis of the pattern.
